Stage one started in the passenger seat of an car. With only six rounds in a magazine, we shot our rifles around a "friendly" target, putting three rounds each into the two main targets.

Then (with the safety on) set the rifle on the dash (facing down range) climbed out the window, then retrieved the rifle. After changing the magazine, we found cover at the rear of the car,and form the weak shoulder, fired three rounds into two new targets.

I hit the two targets without hitting the friendly one.I came out of the car fast, but my head came above the roof line, making me open for a head shot. The rest of the stage I did OK.

For the last part of the stage we ran to a table, then fired three rounds into the last target with our pistols, weak hand only. That when the clock stop. The real life shooter had taken a round before or during his exiting the car.

I was using an AK47 and a Sig SP 2340 and wearing the Eagle Industries / SKD chest rig, see Tactical Gear Buyers Guide.com for more info |

Stage two started from the drive side of a different car. We loaded our pistols with two mag. with six rounds each. We shot at two targets, three rounds each, changed the mag. and fired three more rounds at each target. Then we reloaded one mag. with six more rounds, exited the car and fired all six at the third target, That's when the clock stopped.

An FBI agent was shot in the shoulder when getting out of the car, so the rules of the stage changed. At that time we loaded six more into a mag. and set with your back to the rear of the car. With strong hand only, we fired a shotgun five times at a Texas Star. racking it with one hand and the ground.

Then we ran around the front of the car, put three into the final two targets of the stage, strong hand only. I had a little trouble one handing the shotgun, but with pistol I did OK.

Stage three was simple. Two steel targets, one on the left, one on the right. There were three barrels for cover about 25 yards apart, the last about 25 yards from the target. Starting with rifle, we went three and three, moved to next barrel, three and three. Then we switched to pistol, went three and three, moved to the next and went three and three on the move. My Sig SP 2340 has a ten round mag. I needed to place 12 shots to finish. I ran out of ammo with one shot left to make. That's why you need more than a 10 round mag.

One of the FBI agents had lost his glasses, so the last stage had us wearing goggles that blur your vision. Setting down we fired three and three at two targets switched mags. and did it again. The clock stopped. We switched to rifles and did the same drill.

I could make out the targets OK with the goggles on, but could not see the front sight on the AK. I hit both targets with all three pistol rounds, but only one AK round hit its mark.

My gear did will. The Eagle / SKD Universal Chest Rig never seemed cumbersome or heavy even when I climbed out of the car. My mags. stayed in tight and came out smooth. The placement of the Benchmade 155 SBK-ADC, at first, seemed like it would jab my ribs, but never did. I went all day with no discomfort and nothing falling out.

It was a great time, and I would like to thank every one at A.C.T.S. for a great day, and I can't wait for the next one.
